In-Library Resources

The Library is a great place to start or continue your family history and local genealogy research. Most Auglaize County Libraries have genealogy materials for viewing, and a few have dedicated sections for local history, including obituaries, family documents, newspapers, etc. Visit your library or call the Main Library in Wapakoneta for more information at (419) 738-2921.

Ohio Obituary Index - An index to over 1,800,000 obituaries, death & marriage notices & other sources from Ohio from the 1810s to the present day. Actual obits may be ordered from 50 partner libraries; only Hayes Library has online ordering.
   
Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps - ** Requires Library Card # outside of library ** Large scale street plans – including building outlines, property boundaries, and building use - produced by the Sanborn Fire Insurance Company from 1867 to 1970.
