Apr il 2020 news & events Library Updates Amid Coronavirus With the announcement that schools will be closed until at least May and the extension of social distancing practices and “stay -at- home” orders, the Auglaize County Libraries’ Board of Trustees has decided to remain closed until further notice to protect the safety of our public and staff. The Board is staying on top of the situation and will notify the public when and how our libraries will reopen our doors. As a result, all due dates will be pushed back until libraries reopen and no library materials currently checked out will incur any late fees. Our digital resources remain available and we encourage anyone who needs help accessing resources to send your questions via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be using our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/acpdls) , our emails, and our website to keep you updated on the Library status. Please check any and all channels regularly for updates and information on added resources. Free Books via Mail Ages 0-5 Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and his wife have partnered with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to put more books in the hands of Ohio’s children. Together they have created the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library to encourage early childhood literacy by providing any and all children in Ohio 5 years and younger with one book a month mailed free to the child’s home. The United Way of Auglaize County is serving as the financial administrator for the local project. So far, the Auglaize County Commissioners, Minster Service Club, Minster Journeyman’s Club, St. Marys Community Foundation, St. Marys Rotary Club, and the Wapakoneta Area Foundation have already pledged dollars to support this project. To get involved: please visit https://ohioimaginationlibrary.org/enroll and register each child ages 0-5 in your household. Soon you will receive age- appropriate books mailed to your home for you and your child to enjoy together.
